Diya
Represents the Earth element (Prithvi) and the physical vessel or human body.
Ghee
Represents the Water element (Jal), sustenance of life, and human desires or ego (vasanas) being consumed.
Batti
Represents the Air element (Vayu) and the individual human mind or soul (Atman) fueling awareness.
Flame (Jyoti)
Represents the Fire element (Agni) and supreme divine knowledge that burns away negativities (tamasic energies)
