COLOURS OF EARTH
Tradition: The tradition is believed to be originated by Lord Krishna . Lord Krisna was sad over his Dark complexion and wondered why Radha was so fair and went to his mother complaining about his complexion. His Mother Yashodha playfully suggested that he can smear any colour on Radha’s face and change her complexion to any colour he wanted. Fascinated by the idea, Krishna proceeded to do so and thus introduced the festival of colours signifying oneness and beauty of love .
Craft & society:The colours are handcrafted by women of India. The hands that create beautiful stories are of women of India. Their innocence , their love and their efforts have gone in creating a colourful story of India.
Environment: Our environment , Our mother Earth, our Surroundings , our home. We have only 2 homes. One is our body and other is Mother Earth. We are responsible to take care of her. After Holi we see rising levels of water pollution and decreasing levels of water. The water resources are limited on Mother earth and we are responsible to take care . So we came up with colours handcrafted from natural ingredients to decrease the amount of waste generated and maintain the environmental balance.

Indigo flowers and Camphor essential oil The colour that signifies the Ashok chakra. Indigo is the colour of pride and wisdom.
5)PEELA
Genda Flowers + Kacchi Haldi + Sandalwood & Marigold essential oil The colour that speaks the story of tradition.
6)KESARI – Genda Flowers + Kacchi Haldi + Mehandi + Kesar + Neroli essential oil
The color of soil of India. The colour of courage and sacrifice.
7)HARA – Neem +Tulsi + Spinach + Mehandi + sandalwood essential oil
The colour of Ayurveda and forests of India.

Rupali , one of the artisan who made these colors says, “ Main iss desh ki beti hu aur iss desh ne mujhe boht kuch dia hai – iss desh ki mitti, kheton ke rang, Charkha, anekta mei ekta, haldi ki khushboo, shiksha , aage badhne ka saahas, rangon se bhara mera Bharat.”
